OH Leuven and DHL expand partnership and cheer on the women’s football team

OH Leuven and DHL eCommerce are expanding their partnership. Having supported the men’s team of football club OH Leuven ever since 2019, DHL also became the shirt sponsor and logistics partner of OH Leuven Women at the start of this season. The women’s team aims to validate last season’s top performance by securing the title this year. What’s more, they also want to become the ultimate benchmark in Belgian women’s football. The kick-off of the new partnership took place at the first match of the new football season.

Growing together
There are many similarities between OH Leuven’s vision and that of DHL eCommerce. In addition to their common goals in terms of innovation, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility, they are both strongly committed to growth. Frank Van Hille, DHL eCommerce Belux Managing Director says, “Our strategy guarantees strong growth for both our employees and our organisation. In line with this, we also want to give OH Leuven Women in particular and women’s top sport in general every opportunity for growth.”
With this collaboration, we want to get to know one another, inspire and improve each other – to get the best out of ourselves and become the best. We are proud of this partnership, which goes far beyond merely putting a logo on a jersey.  As a logistics partner, we will be putting our expertise at the disposal of the women’s team to meet their specific needs. OH Leuven is laying the foundation for structural changes, and this includes women’s football. We are happy to be part of that story,” says Frank van Hille.

I have rarely felt such engagement from a sponsor.

Logistics support
The partnership will be given concrete shape through the logistics services offered. Many players do not have their own means of transport yet, or depend on trains to get to training sessions. DHL is providing the players with a minibus so that they can all make their way to training sessions together. What’s more, both the team and DHL are already looking forward to Women’s Day on 13 January 2024. On this day, there will be a conference featuring leading international speakers from women’s football, and we will be making another attempt at breaking the spectator record in the Lotto Superleague.

Sari Kees: ‘Participating in professionalisation’
The centre-back and Red Flame, Sari Kees, emphasises her appreciation for DHL’s strong involvement in women’s football. “It is nice to feel that a company like DHL eCommerce believes in us. I have rarely felt such engagement from a sponsor. As well as the typical partnership, DHL also tries to help us with our daily needs and issues. They genuinely want to contribute to the further professionalisation of women’s football,” says Sari Kees.
